I had the pleasure of living at 100 Orford with my young daughter, and it was truly a wonderful experience. The mother-in-law apartment above the garage is charming, filled with natural light, and has a peaceful, quiet country feel. We loved watching deer in the yard during the day and listening to owls at night. The property is beautifully maintained, with everything in the apartment kept fresh and in excellent condition. There is even the option of enjoying the wood stove on a New England winter night. Having a view of Post Pond and walkable access to the beach and tennis courts made the setting even more special. The surrounding trails, country roads, and hills offered endless opportunities for hiking, jogging, and biking. The landlords, Harvey and Judyand their sweet Golden Retrieverwere exceptional: friendly, attentive, and caring, yet never intrusive. They created an environment that felt both private and welcoming, which made our time there especially enjoyable. The location is ideal: close to Hanover for work, shopping, and appointments, while also near local treasures such as Cedar Circle Farm and other Upper Valley favorites. The town of Lyme itself is a vibrant community, with events on the green and proximity to the Dartmouth Skiway. Living at 100 Orford was a haven of peace and happiness for us, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful home in a welcoming community.
